The domain extension fails to install, I also tried manually installing it
Please give some more information. What steps did you take? At which step is it failing? What error message do you get?

Beyond the good questions @josklever asked, can you tell us if you tried manually installing any other plugins on that site?
And please share a screenshot of the error message if possible.
