How to Streamline Client Website Updates Efficiently Using MainWP?

Hey guys… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I have been using MainWP for a while to manage several client websites and I am always looking for ways to improve my workflow. One of the areas I am hoping to streamline is handling updates—especially for plugins and themes across multiple sites.

Right now, I have got scheduled updates set up, but I find that occasionally some sites will have conflicts after an update, which means I need to manually check each one. I’m wondering if there’s a better approach or any best practices when it comes to managing these updates efficiently.

I also check this: https://managers.mainwp.com/t/q-a-with-santa-how-he-uses-mainwp-to-manage-his-websiteqlik But I have not found any solution. Could anyone guide me about this? How do you all handle update rollouts for large batches of sites? Is there a way to catch potential conflicts or errors before they affect the live sites? Also, I’d love to hear about any strategies for automating post-update checks or ensuring site integrity after updates.

Your help will be helpful for me!

Thanks in advance!

Hello @vamoy24513,
Welcome to the community.
We are doing all the updates manually on Saturday morning to avoid this kind of issues so if a site break we will know right away as always, when we run the updates we do a second sync to be sure that all sites are still connected. Also, we are using a solution called Pagesscreen: https://pagescreen.io/ that check the front page for any changes on the design, if > 30% we get a notification. It runs daily so we may have delay between when it happens and when you saw it but, clients never see it, especially on the weekend. We do exclude plugins that are a problem to update for a couple of websites, less than 10. We are managing more than 200 websites and so far, our workflow is working pretty well. We do also have a uptime monitoring every 5 min as is a site goes down, we will know right away too. Hope it helps.
