Hi there,

Hi there,

Hey @Jonathan1
Can you try deactivating and re-activating the MainWP Child plugin and then try adding the site again?
Also, can you let us know what response you get for Test Connection?
Finally, would it be possible to temporarily deactivate all plugins on the child site except for the MainWP Child so we can eliminate potential plugin conflicts?
Hi @bojan
I tried the test connection button and it seems the connection is failing. That’s definitely what’s causing the issue.
I encountered the same issue while trying to connect another site. This time te connection is ok, but I’m still having the issue I told before.
Hey @Jonathan1
Thanks for the update.
Can you please try to temporarily deactivate all plugins except for the MainWP Child on the child site and see if that helps?
This way, we can see if there is some plugin creating a conflict or a security plugin blocking the connection.
I think I’m not allowed to do that. I could make a backup but I would have to ask my boss in order to try that. I’ll probably update the situation about this issue later on!
Thanks for the update, @Jonathan1. Let us know what you find out.
If you wish, you can also open a private Help Desk ticket so we can try collecting some additional information about the issue.
If you do, please refer to this Managers thread by its URL in the ticket.
i got the same problem since recently, also with sites that was connected for months without a problem… strange…
Hey @Mario
I have just sent you a pre-release version of the MainWP Child plugin that should help prevent future disconnections of this type.
If the issue persists with that version, please open a private Help Desk ticket so we can collect some additional information & investigate further.
And please refer to this Managers thread by its URL in the ticket.
Hi @bojan,
I noticed this issue too recently. Sites will disconnect for no reason as they have been connected for months if not years. Deactivating and re-activating the plugin on the child solved the issue everytime but kind of annoying for sure. Hope the pre-release will solve that.
Thanks
Fred
Hi @bojan,
Same issue today with 2 sites disconnected! Any update on the child update plugin?
Thanks
Hey @wpexpert
We expect to release the MainWP Child plugin in the coming days.
There is a workaround that you can try before that version is released - navigate to the Tools page of your Dashboard site (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=MainWPTools), and then click the Reset OpenSSL Key Pair button.
Then, from the popup window, select one of the disconnected sites and try resetting the key pair.
Ok thanks, I already disabled and enabled the child plugins to reconnect but next one I will try that for sure!
Hi,
I just wanted to say that I had the same "Public key already set. Please deactivate & reactivate…” error persistently crop up on several sites and this suggestion (to Reset OpenSSL Key Pair) worked for me, in that it then reconnected to the sites fine.
I will monitor it to see if those sites have the same problem again.
