Revert MainWP DashBoard

I updated the MainWP dashboard to Version 5.3 and the interface is so bad, with certain things that won’t click through such as Uptime Monitoring and Updates Overview where the only option now is to Update everything, that I want to revert to the previous version. Where may I find the previous version?

You can click through to the updates screens via the “See details” links, so no need to update everything.

I agree that a button to an uptime monitoring screen (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=MonitoringSites) is missing. For now you can find it via Sites - Monitoring - Monitoring.

Thank you Joe, but that didn’t quite answer my question. In my humble opinion, the Overview dashboard is a visual mess compared to the previous version, and I want to revert to the previous version, so where may I find that?

Uptime Monitoring is missing a button, Connection Status doesn’t work when selecting from the three-dot options, and I personally find the the silly “A” icon for Available translation updates to be confusing,

I want to revert until this becomes more robust, finessed in user interface, and the kinks are worked out so the dashboard becomes more obvious and useful in presentation and functionality.

Please provide a link where I can download the previous version of the MainWP dashboard.

Thank you in advance!

I second the issues with the dashboard.

  • Non MainWP Changes - username and plugin name are the same color and run together
  • Databases - the number of updates is cut in half
  • Termageddon Updates - number of updates is cut in half
  • Available Updates - the red / green is impossible to read on the dark grey
  • Site Hardening - the button overflows the widget

I know, but I try to help you forward. You can always rollback to a previous version if you don’t like the update. WP Rollback can do that or you download it from MainWP Dashboard: WordPress Management without the SaaS (advanced view) – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org (at the bottom)

All the things you mention are minor issues, you can report here. Or you could have applied for the early release testing and help fix the issues before the release. So this has nothing to do with the dashboard not being robust enough.

I agree, it already improved since the RC1 version. Just create a post for it with your recommendation, so they can pick it up.

This needs an update of the extension and was already reported by me in Database Updates don't fit in the new widgets

I don’t use that, so I haven’t tested it, but it sounds like the same as for the database updates.

This should be a new post as well, and it would help if you can recommend color codes that work for you.

I can’t reproduce that, so again please create a seperate post with a screenshot.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I appreciate that.

I just wanted to jump in and provide further update.

In the Uptim Monitor extension , we added a link to quickly go to the Monitoring dashboard. Also, we are adding an option to completely remove the widget if it’s not needed.

Regarding the links in the Updates Overview widget, links are still in there as they were before. You can use the to review updates before processing.

As per your suggestion, we updated the Icon for Available translations card:

and I could not duplicate the problem with displaying connection status elements:

Thanks for this feedback, we made some changes in the 5.3.1

We released updates for both extensions today to address this issue.

Hi all,

I agree, the new dashboard is worst then before! It takes a lot of more spaces than before and no options to change that. Database section is broken, red on black (already mentioned), Non-MainWP changes empty but says see all 21! We are not using Monitoring at all but we can’t remove the widget from the dashboard, it is not in the list.

I wish we can choose between old and new one, but pretty sure it is not doable.

Thanks for the update 5.3.1 @bogdan ! Fixed all the issues… And for the non main-wp changes, a sync removed the 21 notifications. All good.
I think, it will take time to adapt to the new one.

Hello everyone, I would also like to have my say here: The new panels on the dashboard may look nice, but they have lost a lot of their clarity. I would also like to have the old view back. Before, I could immediately see from the large numbers where updates were due. Now I have to look closely and study the panels.

I’m afraid I have to agree as I think the new dashboard has been done for cosmetic changes only and that is where it is failing big time. We had to change quite a lot to make it even slightly useable and I do find it much much less clear.

(and suddenly even simple things like the Clients box don’t fit properly anymore …I think you’ve created something that requires a wider column than needed. We had ‘Updates overview’ in 1 column and it was as clear as could be, now we have to stretch it over the full width of the page and it is still less clear)

NGL, it is much, MUCH worse than it was before, which was already not optimal but now I can’t even stand looking at it. It’s bulky, clunky, it takes up too much space for the most irrelevant info and no I don’t have the time to create custom effen themes for it. NOT a fan.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the updated MainWP Dashboard.

Customizing Widgets on the Dashboard - You can reorder, resize, or disable widgets that aren’t relevant to your workflow. Please see here for more information.

@wpexpert and @svehei :
We understand that the new layout may feel less intuitive at first for some, especially when you are so familiar with the old widgets. While the changes were made to provide greater flexibility, adapting can take a bit of time.
If certain widgets, like the Monitoring widget, don’t suit your workflow, you can easily disable them.

@SuppY
Thank you for pointing out the clarity issues in some panels. Although we can’t return to the previous design, we’re actively working on making the updates more visually intuitive.
I cannot reproduce the issue you’re seeing with the Clients widget. Resetting the page layout is likely to fix it and perhaps give you a new, clean start towards customizing your Overview page.

@svt
Your feedback about bulkiness and spacing is noted. We’re reviewing these elements to find ways to streamline the interface further. If you have specific tweaks in mind—like spacing adjustments—we encourage you to share them on the feedback platform so we can address them directly.

Thanks @bojan ! I agree with @svt - the new dashboard is taking so much space for simple information. If you can offer a simple way to reduce the information on the top here:

So we can add more widget because if you are reducing the size of Connection status, the green bar goes out like that:

The main dashboard before was smaller with just number, link to details and it was good enough for us.

Hi @wpexpert

Right now, it is not possible to disable individual data points in the Updates Overview widget.
However, as with any widget, you can resize it, and perhaps find that the information density is higher when sized vertically like so:

Thanks for pointing this out to us. We will look into improving the behavior of widgets and their content when set to small sizes.
