Warnings trying to set up Uptime Robot

I’m sure I’ve done this correctly and I have an Uptime Robot API key. However, when I enter it in the Advanced Uptime Monitor Settings and click on Save settings, I get a page with three warnings (plus debug data):

( ! ) Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in C:\Users<user>\Local Sites\mainwp\app\public\wp-content\plugins\advanced-uptime-monitor-extension\class\class-mainwp-aum-uptimerobot-controller.php on line 755

Note that I’m running this on a Local by Flywheel install - I did have problems setting this up initially (and I posted about this on the WordPress extension page) but I got it all running and all seems OK - other than this error.

Any idea what’s happening and how to fix this?

Hi Alan,

Report looks good, I can’t see anything unusual in there.

Can you please try to reinstall the extension and see if that solves the problem?

I deactivated, deleted then reinstalled the Uptime extension, grabbed the API key and entered it but still get the same error.

Can I make sure I’m doing this correctly? I go to the Advanced Uptime Monitor Settings tab, enter my API key (from My Account on the mainwp.com website, which starts wc_order_…) then click on Save Settings? That’s when I get those three warnings.

By the way, the link on that page ’ Enter your API key provided by the Uptime Robot. Not sure how to get it? Click here to find out!’ is a 404.

You are trying to use the MainWP API code, but you should use the Uptime Robot API, which you can find on Login | UptimeRobot under API Settings.

Argh. Sorry. I was using the correct API code before uninstalling and reinstalling. However, I’ve just tried with the right Uptime robot Main API key (it starts u124) and I still get the same warnings.

Line 755 of the file advanced-uptime-monitor-extension/class/class-mainwp-aum-uptimerobot-controller.php is about the alert contacts, so have you set up an alert contact in Uptime Robot and selected it as the default contact in the AUM Extension?

I do have an alert contact email in Uptime robot (and I verified it when I signed up) but that doesn’t appear in the MainWP AUP extension. I paste the API key into the Uptime Robot API Key field but the Default alert contact field says ‘No items found! Make sure to submit your Uptime Robot API key first.’ Should I see my Uptime robot alert email address there? Do I need to save settings first? That’s when I get the warnings.

Do I have to set up something other than an email alert contact? If so, what?

That’s as far as my ideas go… I’ll let @bogdan handle the rest of this issue.

Many thanks, @josklever

I suspect I’m missing something simple…

If it’s MainWP that contacts Uptime Robot then that may work but if Uptime robot has to contact my MainWP install, it won’t be able to as it’s on a local WordPress install. Is that something to do with it?

Hi AlanH,

Would you mind opening a private Help Desk ticket so we can collect some additional information & investigate further?

Thanks, Bogdan. Done.

After troubleshooting this problem, we found that there is some issue with the localhost setup.

It is confirmed that everything works properly on a web-hosted dashboard so the client decided to continue from the new dashboard.
